Clar brilliant. I mean, Poe a murit d f mult timp si multzi scriitori contemporani il considera o puternica influentza. In plus, fara el nu am fi intalnit genul horror. De Oscar Wilde, marturisesc spre rusinea mea k nu prea m-am apropiat but the holiday is only about to begin. La Stephen King no comment whatsoever, asha qm am mai zis, scrie superb and very creepy. But i really like Clive and he's also been called a madman. (e d ajuns un skim prin Books of Blood si datzi d very perverted zombie)

I'll look.. but zombies aren't my strong point unfortunately. Me and xXerisXx have... a bit of a problem with zombies since we read Megatokyo *online webcomic: www.megatokyo.com*.
Cat despre Oscar Wilde... Yah, he was gay, dar cat de frumos putea sa scrie, nu punea in balanta partea carnala in a fi homosexual, ci numai iubirea... iubire care de fapt l-a dus la faliment si inchisoare. Va recomand cu caludura "De Profundis".
Preferata mea de la Stephen King este... Kingdom Hospital. Mi se pare exact ceea ce inseamna atitdine creepy. Ceva ciudat, un univers paralel, we get scared, dar si personaje umane, cu defecte si calitati umanistice.
Mai jos am pus o poza a lui Oscar Wilde.

Well, not that I have a problem with Wilide's sexual prefernces (Clive isn't 2 straight either), dar faza e k pur si simplu ziua si viatza nu au destule ore k sa fac tot c vreau. I'm running outta time here...I'll take a look at Wilde's work in the near future. As for my favourite Stephen King book, hm...tough one. I kinda think "Carrie" cuz it wuz the first I read. The story is sorta universal cuz every teenager can find himself there. And yeah, sumtimes I'd wish 2 have telekinetic abilities....

Ah, apropo de Stephen King.. Ruleaza pe AXN ecranizarea.. in fiecare vineri, la 10:50 seara.. Superrrrrrrrrrrr!! E exact cum mi-am imaginat... si cine a regizat must have been goth pentru ca e perfect.

Romance is out of fashion. They just said so on the radio. Just kidding. Ma rog, e o perceptzie diferta a dragostei aici. Of course, sentimentul in sine e mult mai greu d obtzinuit in the society nowadays si totul este altfel. But who (what girl) wouldn't want roses on the table or on the bed? Anyway, la Stephen King avem idei d love gone bad. Any kind of love i mean:mother-daughter, teenager love, couple love. Iar la Clive...hm...love that surpasses all obstacles, even death...i think....

Yes.. dar aici vorbeam de Oscar Wilde... excentric one he was... But amazing... Si era un barbat bine pentru vremea lui.
Il ador pe Oscar Wilde (ca scriitor, desigur)...Portretul lui Dorian Gray mi-a placut mai mult decat De Profundis...desi pe ultima am citit-o acum 3 ani si ceva, stiu ca nu m-a impresionat chiar...in mod exceptional, asa cum au facut-o alte carti.
p.s.: Daca tot e un topic cultural, with all due respect for teenage dirtbag, te rog mult incearca sa nu mai folosesti prescurtarile tipice mIRC, pentru ca mie, unul, mi-e foarte greu sa-ti citesc posturile

@Reaper: Sorry, really sorry, dar deja mana se coorodneaza singura cu ecranu...(no brain cells are harmed during typing ) @Snoo: Yeah, m-am prins ca e vorba despre un el. Oscar Wilde este pur si simplu genial pentru ca pur si simplu este, sau cel putin asa imi place mie sa il vad (adica chiar nu ma intereseaza ca era homosexual or whatever - ca si Freddie Mercury era si ascult Queen cu cea mai mare placere). Cand vine vorba de oameni atat de mari, pur si simplu astea sunt prostii si trebuie sa fii tu un dobitoc de mare speta sa ai retineri or whatever. Mie unul, Daca imi place/nu imi place un scriitor o fac exclusiv pe motive de carte. So, revenind - Oscar Wilde - I like him a lot, plus a bag of chips. Poe la fel. Pe langa faptul ca ii datoram genul horror etc, daca ii citesti cu atentie opera, apar si niste pre-SF-uri. Da, la Poe apar unele dintre primele incercari de SF din istorie. If it hadn't been for him and a select few (Wells, Jules Verne sau Arthur Conan Doyle) we might be missing SF altogether today. So yeah, all my respect to Poe. De Stephen King recunosc ca nu m-am atins... iar Clive... oh well, din ce mi-a aratat Teenage Dirtbag , I don't think he's really my type...

Yeah, the main problem is you really need a very open mind to deal with Cilve. And always expect the unexpected. Sunt anumite momente foare greu de digerat, mai ales daca ai un stomac sensibil. Si nu ma refer numai la chestii horror, ci mai mult la lmita dintre supranatural si sadism. Plus un simt al umorului total macabru (ex p asta: "Yattering si Jack" din "Cartile insangerate" ).

You think Clive Barker needs an open mind?... incearca "Metamorfoza" de Kafka. And yeah, Clive Barker is too much for my stomach... besides, I never really had a thing for horror. (Pentru necunoscatori, in "Metamorfoza", ideea este ca, intr-o zi, personajul principal se trezeste ca a devenit un gandac de dimensiuni umane...)

I strongly think Clive Barker needs an open mind. Pentru ca ideea pe care se axeaza, in general, e ca sentimentele puternice (dragoste, ura, razbunare samd) pot trece peste orice obstacol, indiferent de natura sa. Exemplu concret: "Cabal", cand iubita personajului principal pleaca in cautarea sa, nefiind convinsa de faptul ca el fusese ucis. Iar el, Boone, o apara chiar cu pretul divulgarii unor secrete teribile ce ar putea trada o intreaga semintie. Anyway, din punctul meu de vedere, cam aceleasi idei le-a adoptat Frank Miller pentru seria "Sin City" (cu ocazia asta adresez o calda rugaminte: ma poate ajuta cineva sa gasesc Frank's graphic novels? Multumiri anticipate )

Well, I do not think I don't have an open mind... daca nu altfel, eu sunt printre putinii oameni pe care ii cunosc care spun ca SF-ul nu este un "gen marginal" sau "literatura de duzina/de calatorie/de distractie". It's just that Clive is a bit too manifest for me... so maybe I'd enjoy Stephen King. As long as it doesn't invade my mind with zombies and whatever other unimaginative stuff, I'm ready to read any book. Clive is a bit too much on the explicit side for me...

No, you do have an open mind, but as I said, Clive is shocking most times si cred ca ti-am povestit deja mai mult decat ai fi vrut sa auzi. And don't worry, no zombies in Stephen King. El e mai mult pe the less abstract side of things, dar presarat din belsug cu elemente parnormale si psihologice. Whenever I want to read him, just let me know. (but let me know unitl next weekend, ca oricat de mult m-as chinui nu cred ca pot inventa un teleporter Bucuresti-Constanta)
